MG Astor as a compact SUV brings intelligent features comprising Autonomous Level 2 technology that powers the mid-range radars. The Emotional Dynamism ideology is included with an AI-based personal assistant that links drivers and passengers. Its Artificial Intelligence (AI) enables the development and application of subscriptions and services while the AI assistant can mimic human behavior with the help of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Natural Language Understanding (NLU).

MG Astor’s i-Smart Hub provides access to a variety of services and subscriptions. With Jio’s tie-up for internet services, MG has expanded its services with the association of Park+ and Map My India alongside. The offerings include reservations for mall parking spaces, payments of fast tag, and viewing of 4D maps on the MG Astor. It also includes a digital passport that allows data storage such as vehicle service history and insurance information with Microsoft’s cloud services. MG and L&T combine to provide data technology services and prevent hackers from stealing the data.

Performance

The Astor is available in a petrol version that comes with two engine trims. One has a 1.5-liter normally aspirated engine with 144 Nm of torque and 110 horsepower, while the other has a BritDynamic 1.4-liter 220Turbo engine with 140 horsepower and 220 Nm of torque. Five-speed manual or CVT automatic transmissions are available for the 110 horsepower engine. However, only a six-speed torque-converter automatic transmission is offered with the 140 horsepower engine.

The smooth powertrain on the turbo-petrol version keeps the drive going while the engine’s humming noise is barely discernible even when the pedal is to the metal. This demonstrates its ninja-like features on the move. All three steering settings provide sufficient power thanks to the silky smoothness.

In all driving situations, a good balance yields significant performance.

Exteriors and Interiors

On the exterior is a new celestial pattern grille and complete LED projector headlamps with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. A new styled bumper is installed on the front, and the new 17-inch alloy wheels give the appearance a unique look. There are also options for a twin exhaust rear bumper with chrome accents and newly designed LED tail lamps, giving the vehicle a more commanding appearance.

It comes with three interior theme options. With a 10.1-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, it has a 7-inch instrument cluster. The other significant features include a panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable front seats, 360-degree camera view, auto climate control, automatic parking brake, and air purifier.
